November 28th, 2007 · No Comments

Wonder Warmers

November 24th, 2007 · 1 Comment

Walking around in the city today, I came across a booth selling these Wonder Warmers.  It’s a plastic pouch containing some sort of liquid and a small metal disk.  As soon as you pop the disk, a chemical reaction starts and the pouch heats up to 130 degrees and stays warm for an hour or [...]

My mother loves to tell this story about the time she met Danny Kay when she was living in Israel.  As the story goes, Danny was at the kibbutz my mother was living in and came into the kitchen one nite looking for a snack.  What did he want?  An onion sandwich.  So, in tribute [...]

November 16th, 2007 · 1 Comment

I just heard about this restaurant that I’d like to try and check out.  Located next to the Westport Country Playhouse in Westport, CT , Dressing Room restaurant is Paul Newman’s latest endeavor.  Long associated with the playhouse (his wife, Joanne Woodword, is the former artistic director), Newman helped start the restaurant in order to help [...]

In honor of Terence McKenna’s birthday today, I bring you a quote of his that I’ve always enjoyed.

Forget the BlueRay / HDVD fight.  Figuring out how to get all those media files you have stashed away on your computer thank to SoulSeek, Napster and BitTorrent down to the TV and stereo has been the latest buzz in Audio/Video gear for the past couple years.  Major contenders for the title:
Squeezebox: http://www.slimdevices.com/index.html
