Flotsam & Jetsam

Hi, my name is Zeke and I’m a foodie.

Thing is, I’m not your run of the mill foodie.  I don’t read the NY Times restaurant review, I don’t covet reservations at the hotest spots in town and I don’t haunt the pages of Chow Hound.  I just love food.  From greasy spoons hidden away down dank alley to Thomas Kellers latest and greatest atop the Time Warner Center, I like food.  I like to think that good food comes in many packages – you just need to find it.  Granted, you can’t compare a $500 meal at Per Se with the Halal cart on 53rd and 6th, but you shouldn’t have to.  Good food comes in many guises and I’m out to find as much of it as I can.

The idea to write up these reviews came as Niki and I were sitting in a Sushi restaurant on Long Island that I’d heard about and decided to track down on our way back from a conference in Riverhead.  I’ve had so many fun food adventures and people are always asking for suggestions on places to eat, I figured it was high time I start writing up some of these and see how it goes.
